Chengdu Municipal Government Scholarship

In order to deepen the construction of a pilot area for people to people and cultural exchanges and education between China and foreign countries, promote international exchanges and cooperation in education between Chengdu and countries along the "the Belt and Road", ASEAN countries, European and American countries and international sister cities of Chengdu, cooperate with the development strategy of the "the Belt and Road", attract more foreign students to study and exchange in Chengdu, expand the scale of foreign students in Chengdu, and improve the internationalization of education in Chengdu, the People's Government of Chengdu has set up government scholarships for foreign students.
The government scholarships for international students in Chengdu include the "Chengdu International Sister City Government Scholarship" (hereinafter referred to as the "Sister City Scholarship"), the "the Belt and Road Scholarship" (hereinafter referred to as the "the Belt and Road Scholarship") and the "Chengdu ASEAN Art Scholarship" (hereinafter referred to as the "ASEAN Art Scholarship"). Among them, the "Friendship City Scholarship" is used to reward outstanding international students from Friendship City who have received academic or non academic education in universities in Chengdu. The "the Belt and Road Scholarship" is used to reward outstanding international students from countries along the "the Belt and Road" who receive academic education or non academic education in Chengdu universities. "ASEAN Art Scholarship" is used to award outstanding overseas students from ASEAN countries, other countries along the "the Belt and Road", Europe and the United States, and sister cities who have received undergraduate or higher education in art majors of municipal universities. In principle, the number of people from other countries along the "the Belt and Road", Europe and the United States, and sister cities does not exceed 25% of the total number of ASEAN Art Scholarship awards.
Responsible for formulating the implementation rules and annual assessment plan for scholarships at Chengdu University, conducting preliminary review, assessment, and distribution of scholarships, and conducting annual assessments and summaries of the effectiveness of scholarship implementation. The scholarship application is accepted once a academic year and is accepted in September each year.
