In order to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people from all over the world, and to develop exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries in various fields, the Chinese government has established scholarships to support outstanding students, teachers, and scholars from around the world to study or conduct research in Chinese universities. The Chinese Ministry of Education entrusts the China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the "CSC") to be responsible for the enrollment, admission, and management of Chinese government scholarship students. Currently, 289 Chinese universities are responsible for the training of Chinese government scholarship students. The disciplinary categories cover science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, art, etc.
